I gasped. My best friend was standing next to me. We've been friends since we were in junior high school.

Farewell party at school. I came alone. I was stunned. Talya was laughing with her friends in the corner. I walked toward her and smiled. I stopped in front of her and I felt my heart beat ten times faster.
